Chicagoland VBB Pickup Game - 7/20

Mark your calendars for the afternoon of Sunday, July 20th for the "First Annual Chicagoland Vintage Base Ball Pick-Up Match" at Langum Park in St. Charles, Illinois.  This event will be sponsored by "Vintage Base Ball This Week".

This scheduled afternoon is designed for any ballist--from any club--to come out, bring their families and enjoy an afternoon of 1858 base ball, picnicking and friendship.  At 2 pm, participating ballists will be separated into clubs (much like we did when we were kids) and a gentlemanly 1858 rules match will then commence.   Individual ballists or entire clubs are invited to attend.

Langum Park is located on the banks of the Fox River, just south of downtown St. Charles on Rt. 25.  During the Civil War the park land was occupied by Camp Kane and was the location used to train the 8th and 17th Illinois Cavalry regiments.

Please consider this day as a day of fellowship among ballists at the mid point of the season.  Let me know how many of your ballists are interested as soon as possible.  Who knows?  We could get two diamonds going!

This is a BYOP (bring your own picnic) event.
